  Father Nuno Miguel da Silva Rodrigues, son of Manuel Pereira Rodrigues and Clarinda da Conceição Silva Rodrigues, was born on May 26, 1974, in Angola, where he was baptized before returning to Portugal in 1975. After his studies primary school, in Leiria, in 1985 he entered the Seminary of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit, in Godim, Vila Real, having professed in 1995, in Barcelos.
  
  Graduated in Theology, from the Portuguese Catholic University, with the defense of the thesis “The Media of Social Communication at the service of Evangelization”. As a university student of Theology, he was president of the Supervisory Board of the Association of Theology Students of the Faculty of Lisbon and in 1996/7 he was elected President of the National Federation of Theology Student Associations (FNAET). During that time, he was honored, for his courage, to have written a controversial article at the time, entitled “The Church and Democracy - their relationship and implications”, within the scope of the Discipline of Ecclesiology, written in the Scholarum magazine of the National Federation of Students of Theology.
  
  In 1993 he participated in a Missionary Teachers Meeting in Guinea-Bissau. In 1996, she went to France to learn the French language at the Alliance Française de Paris.
  
  In 1998, he left for Cape Verde to do his missionary internship. There he was ordained deacon on July 4, 1999, having made his Perpetual Religious Profession the day before. After this first experience, he returned to Portugal to be ordained a priest in the jubilee year of 2000, in the Parish of Santa Eufémia, in the Diocese of Leiria-Fátima, by Bishop Dom Serafim Ferreira e Silva.
  
  According to the communication sent to this newspaper, after an intensive course on Missiology, in Madrid, at the Instituto Pio later Parish Priest of the Parish of São Miguel Arcanjo, in the city of Calheta de São Miguel - Santiago Island.
  
  It is at Padre Moniz Secondary School that he dedicates most of his time, being responsible for it, the Board of Directors and teaching as a Professor. He reorganizes the entire functioning of this school, creating its ideas and internal regulations. In 2003 he prepared the entire commemorative program for the 25th anniversary of the founding of this reference school in Cape Verde.
  
  From 2013 to 2019, already in Portugal, he was Administrator of LIAM (Liga Intensificadora da Ação Missionária) and Missionary Animator in the Lisbon, Santarém, Setúbal, Leiria and Algarve region. He was also a national assistant for the Teachers' Missionary Movement (MOMIP) and, as treasurer, member of the Board of Directors of the Padre Alves Correia Center (CEPAC), an IPSS that welcomes and supports emigrants.
  
  He founded, together with Father Tiago Barbosa, the missionary Project “Abraçar a Missão”, a short-term volunteer project, and was in 2016, in its 1st edition, in Angola, and, in 2018 and 2019, in São Tomé and Príncipe, in its 2nd and 3rd editions respectively.
  
  During 2019, he took his sabbatical year in the city of Fortaleza – Brazil, where he completed an intensive course on Religious Life and Psychology, within the scope of spiritual renewal.
  
  In July 2020, with a group of lay friends, he legally created the Associação Abraçar São Tomé e Príncipe, a non-profit NGO supporting the people of São Tomé and Príncipe.
  
  At the end of 2020, continues the source of this newspaper, he returned to São Tomé and Príncipe again, staying at the Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of the Imaculada Conceição, in the city of Neves, collaborating directly with the Lembá Integrated Development Project (PDIL) and with the Parishes of Our Lady of the Snows and Guadalupe. During this time she carried out several training activities for teachers and lay people involved in various parish communities, as well as Religious Institutes and Diocesan Clergy. As a spiritual assistant to the Teams of Our Lady (ENS) she reorganized and revitalized some sectors, namely in the parishes of Nossa Senhora das Neves, Santo Amaro and Madalena.
  
  In September 2021, he was asked by the Diocesan Bishop of São Tomé and Príncipe to take over the Parish of Santo António on Príncipe Island as Parish Administrator until the end of that same year.
  
  He is the author of several opinion and training articles, and the following books: “Escola Padre Moniz – 25 anos ao service da Educação”, from 2003; “Dialogues of a Missionary”, from 2013, which had 4 editions; “The Secret of Happiness”, 2019 and “Sementes de Missão”, 2020.
  
  He is currently in the United States of America (USA), more specifically, in the State of Rhode Island to learn English and at the same time collaborate with the Parish Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Saint Anthony's Church in Pawtucket, concludes the statement we saw citing.

  Padre Nuno Miguel da Silva Rodrigues, filho de Manuel Pereira Rodrigues e Clarinda da Conceição Silva Rodrigues, nasceu a 26 de maio de 1974, em Angola, onde foi batizado antes de regressar a Portugal em 1975. Depois dos estudos primários, em Leiria, entrou em 1985 no Seminário da Congregação dos Missionários do Espírito Santo, em Godim, Vila Real, tendo professado no ano de 1995, em Barcelos.
  
  Licenciado em Teologia, pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa, com a defesa da tese “Os Meios de Comunicação Social ao serviço da Evangelização”. Enquanto estudante universitário de Teologia, foi presidente do Conselho Fiscal da Associação dos Estudantes de Teologia da Faculdade de Lisboa e em 1996/7 é eleito Presidente da Federação Nacional das Associações de Estudantes de Teologia (FNAET). Durante esse tempo, foi agraciado, pela sua coragem, de ter escrito um artigo polémico na altura, intitulado “A Igreja e a Democracia - sua relação e implicações”, no âmbito da Disciplina de Eclesiologia, escrito na revista Scholarum da Federação Nacional dos Estudantes de Teologia.
  
  Em 1993 participou num Encontro Missionários de Professores na Guiné-Bissau. Em 1996, vai até França para a aprendizagem da língua francesa na Alliance Française de Paris.
  
  Em 1998, partiu para Cabo Verde a fim de fazer o seu estágio missionário. Aí foi ordenado diácono a 04 de Julho de 1999, tendo feito na véspera a sua Profissão Religiosa Perpétua. Terminada esta 1ª experiência, regressou a Portugal para ser ordenado sacerdote no ano jubilar de 2000, na Paróquia de Santa Eufémia, da Diocese de Leiria-Fátima, pelo Bispo Dom Serafim Ferreira e Silva.
  
  Conforme o comunicaod remetido a este jornal, depois de um curso intensivo sobre Missiologia, em Madrid, no Instituto Pio X, é nomeado para Cabo Verde onde permaneceu até 2012, exercendo funções de Diretor Administrativo da Escola Secundária Padre Moniz, Professor, Vigário Paroquial e mais tarde Pároco da Paróquia de São Miguel Arcanjo, na cidade da Calheta de São Miguel - ilha de Santiago.
  
  É na Escola Secundária Padre Moniz que dedica a maior parte do seu tempo, sendo responsável da mesma, do Conselho Diretivo e lecionando como Professor. Reorganiza todo o funcionamento desta escola, criando-lhe o seu ideário e regulamento interno. Em 2003 prepara todo o programa comemorativo dos 25 anos de fundação desta escola de referência em Cabo Verde.
  
  De 2013 até 2019, já em Portugal, foi Administrador da LIAM (Liga Intensificadora da Ação Missionária) e Animador Missionário da região de Lisboa, Santarém, Setúbal, Leiria e Algarve. Foi também assistente nacional do Movimento Missionário de Professores (MOMIP) e, como tesoureiro, membro da Direção do Centro Padre Alves Correia (CEPAC), uma IPSS de acolhimento e apoio aos emigrantes.
  
  Fundou, juntamente com o Padre Tiago Barbosa, o Projeto missionário “Abraçar a Missão”, um projeto de voluntariado de curta duração, e esteve em 2016, na sua 1ª edição, em Angola, e, em 2018 e 2019, em São Tomé e Príncipe, na sua 2ª e 3ª edição respetivamente.
  
  Durante o ano 2019 realizou o seu ano sabático na cidade de Fortaleza – Brasil, onde concluiu um curso intensivo sobre Vida Religiosa e Psicologia, no âmbito da renovação espiritual.
  
  Em Julho de 2020, com um grupo de leigos amigos, criou juridicamente a Associação Abraçar São Tomé e Príncipe, uma ONGD sem fins lucrativos de apoio ao povo de São Tomé e Príncipe.
  
  Em fins de 2020, prossege a fonte deste jornal, regressou novamente a São Tomé e Príncipe, ficando a residir nas Irmãs Franciscanas Hospitaleiras da Imaculada Conceição, na cidade das Neves colaborando diretamente com o Projeto de Desenvolvimento Integrado de Lembá (PDIL) e com as Paróquias de Nossa Senhora das Neves e de Guadalupe. Durante esse tempo realizou várias ações de formação a professores e leigos empenhados em diversas comunidades paroquiais, bem como aos Institutos Religiosos e ao Clero Diocesano. espiritual das Equipas de Nossa Senhora (ENS) reorganizou e revitalizou alguns setores nomeadamente nas paróquias de Nossa Senhora das Neves, Santo Amaro e Madalena.
  
  Em Setembro de 2021, é-lhe pedido, pelo Bispo Diocesano de São Tomé e Príncipe para assumir a Paróquia de Santo António na Ilha de Príncipe como Administrador Paroquial até ao fim desse mesmo ano.
  
  É autor de vários artigos de opinião e de formação, e dos seguintes livros: “Escola Padre Moniz – 25 anos ao serviço da Educação”, de 2003; “Diálogos de um Missionário”, de 2013, que teve 4 edições; “O Segredo da Felicidade”, de 2019 e “Sementes de Missão”, de 2020.
  
  Atualmente encontra-se nos Estados Unidos da América (EUA), mais concretamente, no Estado de Rhode Island para a aprendizagem do inglês e ao mesmo tempo colaborar na Paróquia Immaculate Heart of Mary Church e Saint Antohony’s Church em Pawtucket, conclui o comunicado que vimos citando.
